Windows Explorer: What's new in Windows 7?
Windows Explorer in Windows 7 features a more refreshing, cleaner design that focuses on simplicity.

I have been using Windows 7 exclusively for some time now and really like it. If you feel adventurous, you can download a free copy from Microsoft. It is what they call a "Release Candidate" meaning it is very close to the final release. It is good until July 2010. If you do it I would recommend that you partition you hard drive and install Windows 7 on a separate partition. That way you always have your current operating system as a back up.

Has anyone used the ReadyBoost I presented in last week's newsletter? It does work if you have Vista or Windows 7 and all you have to do is plug in a spare flash drive in a USB port.

News from Wisconsin

Hello to Rock Shadows winter snowbirds!

Enjoyed your news letter and all the good camera info Chuck. There is good digital camera information out there just by letting Google search it out for you, and spending the time to read and practice. Who knows, maybe your camera manual will start to make sense! I just want to add that I have found two good sites for editing and having fun with your photos. Check out FotoFlexer.com and lunapic.com. They are both free sites and you can really have fun with all the things you can do with photos. Another good site is photoshop.com, you can upload, edit and share your photos you photos with family and friends, and they are safe if you should have a computer problem. I am also wondering how many are on facebook or one of the other sites like that. Carol Hayden and I chat back and forth often and share pictures. You know with all the things we do on the computer it is hard to get time to do housework, but who cares, it just gets dirty again.
I have had to leave the computer idle much of the time lately and take care of Al. He had a total knee replacement May 7th. I think he is starting to recover, but he has been wondering if he would ever be able to golf again. He wanted to have it done right away when we got back home this year, so he would not miss AZ golf. I am doing well, good thing, as only one of us can need care at a time. That's the way it goes, "patch and repair" all the time.
Hope you all are having a good summer and look forward to seeing you this fall.

News from Nebraska

Ruth and I celebrated our 66th anniversary Sunday. We had a party with a number of friends and our two sons and their families at our oldest son's home. It is hard to believe how fast those 66 years have gone. We are both so thankful for the life we have enjoyed and the wonderful family we have. We are also thankful for the many friends we have got to know at Rock Shadows for the last 15 years.
Tuesday, 18 present and former Nebraska Rock Shadow residents gathered in Lincoln for our monthly luncheon. Nebraskans from five different cities, Omaha, Lincoln, Columbus, Monroe and Wahoo were there. On the last Tuesday in June we will meet in Omaha for our next luncheon.

And that's how the fight started.....

My wife and I are watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire while we were in bed. I turned to her and said, 'Do you want to have sex?'
'No,' she answered.
I then said, 'Is that your final answer?'
She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying 'Yes.'
So I said, 'Then I'd like to phone a lifeline.'
And that's when the fight started....
**************************************************
I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of Miller Light for $14.95.
Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream for $7.95.. I told her the beer would make her look better at night than the cold cream.
And that's when the fight started.....
**************************************************
I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my order first.
'I'll have the strip steak, medium rare, please.'
He said, 'Aren't you worried about the mad cow?'
'Nah, she can order for herself.'
And that's when the fight started.....
**************************************************
Saturday morning I got up early, quietly dressed, had some breakfast, and slipped quietly into the garage.
With intentions of starting it in the street, I clicked the Harley into neutral, punched the garage door remote, and proceeded out into a torrential downpour.
It was raining sideways since the wind was blowing 50 mph, so I backed her into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad all day.
I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed. I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered, "The weather out there is terrible."
My loving wife replied, "Can you believe my stupid husband is out riding in that?"
And that is when the fight started...
**************************************************
A man and a woman were asleep at 3:00 am like two innocent babies. Suddenly, a loud noise came from outside.
The woman, bewildered, jumped up from the bed and yelled at the man, "HOLY
****E. That must be my husband!"
So the man jumped out of the bed scared and jumped naked out the window. He landed in a thorn bush, and then ran to his car as fast as he could go.
A few minutes later he returned and went up to the bedroom and screamed at the woman, "I AM your husband!"
The woman yelled back, 'Yeah, then why were you running?'
And that's when the fight started...
************************************************** *
My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table. My wife asked, 'Do you know her?' 'Yes,' I sighed, 'She's my old girlfriend. I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.' 'My God!' says my wife, 'Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?'
And that's how the fight started.....

News from Prescott Valley

We are still getting scattered thunder storms here. It is unusual and seems like an early Monsoon. Yesterday when I went into Prescott to play Bridge the sun was shinning nicely at our house and the top of the little red car was down. Before I got there I had to stop and put the top up, then it really came down. Of course I had washed the car the day before.

Memorial Day was beautiful here. We had some neighbors over for a Bar-B-Que on the patio and watch the Diamondbacks play San Diego. It is hard to believe but the D backs were ahead 7 to 1 going into the 8th inning and then lost the game 9 to 7. The next day they were ahead 6 to 0 going into the 8th and only won by one run. The attendance is way down  with only about one third of the stadium filled. I guess no one wants to watch losers.

The Diamondbacks have now won 20 games and lost 27 games for a .426 average. They are now twelve and one half games out of first place in the National League West.   Yes, we still watch.
