News from Minnesota

9-27-09

Hi- I am trying again- seems when I try to send a note to you it never goes through. So I am at my daughters and trying again- just to say hello to all and to let all who remember me, know that I am still hanging in there, or I guess I should say here. I have been here 6 years now and am some what used to the weather changes. I hear from a few of past friends now and then and that is good. So to any of you there that still remembers your old post-mistress, I like to say have a good one. I enjoy reading the news letters an so thank you Chuck for printing it for us to enjoy. Also, I no longer own my pink-bicycle. That is a part of me that is no longer. You all know about changes and we all go through them. The thing is, not to let them change us!!! So until next time, have a good one.

Hello from Michigan

10-07-09

For the first time in 13 years we will not be coming to Arizona or any other place that will be warm this winter.
We will just stay here in Sault Ste Marie and try to get healthy. So we would like to rent our space. Hopefully we can find a renter, if anyone knows of someone who is interested please let us know, or they can call us directly at (906) 632-2441 or (906) 440-4314. Lonia will be having back surgery on October 12, 2009, she should be in the hospital for 4-5 days and then rehab for another 10 days. Hopefully this will alleviate the pain in her legs, hips, and lower back. Keep her in your prayers. Clem is still on his oxygen and is very limited at what he can do. We will miss you all, and hope that you have a good winter. Thanks Chuck for putting this on the newsletter.

Much Love,
Lonia and Clem Brission sp328

News from Oregon

10-10-09
We are getting ready for out trip south after having a great summer with our kids from Brazil. After Dr. appoints and a birthday party for our Great Grand Daughter we will pack up and head out first week of November getting down to Rock Shadows around Nov. 7th.
I have to tell you about a new Software Program that I got this summer. Roxio easy VHS to DVD Transfer video tape formats to PC or DVD.
It’s a sad fact that treasured home movies shot on VHS , and V8 tapes will degrade over time, eventually disappearing completely. Roxio Easy VHS to DVD makes it easy to preserve irreplaceable memories by transferring them to DVD to save and share for generations.
To those that would be interested, bring your VHS and V8 tapes down To Rock Shadows and I will set up a class In November.
Looking forward to seeing you all next month

News from Montana

10-13-09

Hello again:

We'll be leaving for Arizona on October 15 and hope to be at Rock Shadow's on October 17. It sure has been hard to figure out this Montana weather. Our low's have set records for about a week --single digits. A lot of sprinkler systems were not blown out yet including ours. We had ours done on the 12th but we were lucky. Quite a few were not and were frozen pretty good.
Everybody be safe in your traveling and sure look forward to seeing everybody at Rock Shadow's.
Another reminder is the first business meeting will be November 3 @ 9:30 AM--RockComp Computer Club.
(Note: I think he means Nov. 4th which is the first Wednesday)

Hope to see everybody soon!

News from an Nebraskan in Apache Junction

10-28-09

It is good to be back in sunny Arizona after having so many cool and wet days in October. We arrived here in Rock Shadows Thursday evening. It was 40° in Omaha when we left, raining and a north wind blowing. Nice and warm when we got off the plane two and a half hours later. A strong wind blew yesterday causing a lot of dust in the air. Last night a cold front went through, and wouldn't you know it, just because we are here, the temperature in Omaha is 61, 2 degrees warmer at 2 PM today, than it is Apache Junction.
Not many people in the park yet. Don and Helen Hamilton are here. Don and Katie Yadlosky pulled in Friday morning.
There is a park model now sitting on space 444. That is the corner lot that Dick and Nettie Clark used to rent for their fifth wheel trailer. It looks like an older model similar to ours. I understand the park owns it.
Looking forward to seeing all the RockComp members when they arrive. Hope you get a lot of emails for this month's newsletter and messages when everyone is planning on returning.

News from Prescott Valley

Just when the Valley thought the 100° days were over they returned to set new records. Friday Oct. 16th it was 100° in Phoenix, Sat. it was 102° and Sun. it was 100°. Monday the temperatures returned to the 90s. For those of you that are interested, there were 117 days this summer with temperatures above 100° as recorded at Phoenix Sky Harbor. The first 100° day was April 21st and the last was October 18th. Every day in July was above 100°

The first snow of the season in Arizona was Oct. 6th on the San Francisco Peaks. We had a few snow flurries here in Prescott Valley Wednesday the 28th but it melted almost as fast as it hit the ground. We had a high temperature of 38° Wednesday.

The price of gasoline at Costco in Prescott is $2.35, at Fry's in Apache Junction it is $2.45.

Don't forget to change your Apache Junction Zip Code to 85119

The Diamondbacks ended the season having won 70 games and lost 92 games for a .432 average. They were twenty five games out of first place and in last place in the National League West.
