Hi Everyone,
As some of you might remember when we left Arizona Don was in much
pain and using a cane to walk. Well we did go on our cruise to The
Baltic's just the same and he did well with the pain pills and the cane.
Now that we are home, he has seen his oncologist and they did another
biopsy of his bone marrow and several x-rays. We got the results on
Wednesday and he is still in remission but will need to go to therapy to
strengthen his muscles to compensate for the weak bones due to the
cancer. It was really good news for both of us as we thought his cancer
had returned. We will be doing more walking now that we are at the beach
for the summer so that will also help.
Our weather has been very hot and humid this year and our campground is
now full since the kids are out of school. We have been in the 90's
quite a bit but it's not like the 90's in Arizona with all that
humidity. Will be here until Sept. 1st and will be flying to Arizona on
Sept. 11 for the winter. Hope the fires will be over soon for the people
of Flagstaff. When Canada had their fires, we had the smoke here in NH
and Mass. Ottawa Canada had an earthquake this week and we felt it in
Mass as well. The ocean felt it first as the water came real high on the
beach.
Thank all of you for writing and sending us news. Chuck, sorry for the
Diamondback's loss when they were in Boston we thought they might win
one but it was not to be. The Red Sox won all 3 games but Don and I did
hope they would win one for Arizona. Stay well. Don and Pauline Jobin

Hello from Montana
|
Last evening we had severe high wind warnings from here and
farther north & west. I saw on the 10:00 PM news last night that the
town of
Lincoln, Mt.- where Harry & Lola lives- had some damage. It showed a
large tree that fell on a car and some house's that had damage as
well. We complain about the cold weather and the rain but when it
warms up, look out!
Not really any good news about our health issue's here. Elsie is
still having to go to different doctor's to be checked out for
different things.
She is still going to therapy 2 times a week. In a couple of weeks,
she has an appointment to see a neurologist. She still has blurred
vision
and no stamina at all plus her hands don't have any feeling in them.
I have been taking to her everywhere because of her vision problems
as well visiting her friends occasionally, if she feels like it. Our
doctor thought I should cancel my surgery appt. because of the way
Elsie is and I was worried about that anyway. So that's about it for
now.
I also appreciate the news about Rock Shadows. Thank you, Celine.
And of course, to Chuck & Jery, where would we be without you two!
Thanks again.
Dale & Elsie Clark, 343

News from Iowa

Hello again,
We hope everyone has a great Independence Day! We hope those of you
traveling have a safe trip, we are spending it with good friends
near Lake Rathbun in Iowa.
The old saying the corn should be knee high by the 4th of July is
incorrect. We say a field tasseled out yesterday. Our first planted
field will tassel soon as you can see by the picture with Winston in
it. These pictures were taken 6/30/2010. We are looking forward to
seeing many of you in Indianola in August.

It has been great to see all of the
members writing to the Newsletter the last two weeks. I hope the
messages continue every wee\k. How about some of those members
we haven’t from all summer?
I like Darlene Johnson said last week, am also guilty of putting
off writing to the Newsletter. By the way, Darlene and I were
able to make contact with each other on Skype last week.
I am in my sixth week of dialysis. I was feeling much better on
Fathers Day and played nine holes of golf with my son and his
two adult sons. My golf game was terrible but I enjoyed being
with my son and two grandsons. It was my Fathers Day present. I
was hoping to play nine more holes but we got rained out. But in
the past week I am feeling tired and weak just as I felt before
I started dialysis. I am hoping to get my strength back so I can
start playing golf with Joe Burhardt soon.
Because I felt so lousy after we returned to Omaha, I did not
plant any flowers or a garden. That is the first spring that has
happened. We do have two tomato plants that our son planted for
us and we picked our first tomatoes Monday.
We are already thinking about returning to Arizona. I am
watching Southwest’s web page for a low rate. As soon as I see
one, we are looking to going to Arizona near the end of October.
I already have a dialysis clinic lined up there.

A little more news from Nebraska:
Harvey Holbrook has been in Litzenberg Memorial Hospital in
Central City, Nebraska for the past week. He was admitted with
pneumonia but is getting better. He is now in what they call
swing beds here so he can get more therapy to help him regain
the strength he lost while he was sick. I am hoping that he will
be coming home again before very many more days go by.

News from Prescott Valley
|
We are
still having beautiful weather here. Wednesday we had some rain showers
but not Monsoon. The
humidity is running less than 10%. There is no sign of Monsoon activity
in the near future. Last Thursday, the 24th, The humidity was 2% as
recorded at Sky Harbor. That is a new record low. The current
temperature here Thursday afternoon in Prescott Valley is 92°. But, the
heat index, that is what your body feels, is 87°. As they say "It is a
dry heat".
All Arizona fires are now contained and under control.
Had fun at the Bridge Tournament last week end. My partner and I came in
1st, 2nd or 3rd each day in our category.
Tonight I call Bingo at the Prescott Adult Center. We have the top down
in our little red car as it is never up until the Monsoon starts and
when we come home at 10p.m. after Bingo we need jackets.
The pictures of the corn in Iowa indicates that the crop is really doing
great.

The last place Diamondbacks beat the St. Louis Cardinals one game
this past week. They would have won two had it not been for 2
Diamondbacks throwing errors in the bottom of the ninth.
The Diamondbacks are still solidly in last place in the National League,
Western Division. Now 15 1/2 games behind first place San Diego. So far
they have won 31 games and lost 48 for a .392 average. Their average has
came up a small bit this past week.
