Please Note: Proposed changes to the bylaws will be presented at the next meeting, February 24, 2010. So, please plan to attend to participate in this important event.Also Please Note: The annual RockComp potluck dinner will be held Thursday evening the 25th starting at 4:00p.m.. We need some help setting up at that time so please come around 4:00p.m. to socialize and help set up. We plan to start eating at 5:00p.m. so if you are bringing a non perishable dish to share feel free to come and socialize. If you are bringing a hot dish to share, please arrange to have it available shortly before 5p.m. so it will be hot when we start eating at 5. There is an oven in the kitchen to keep things warm and a micro wave to reheat if necessary. At this point we have no entertainment planned. If you know of anything or a group would like to present a skit or something, please let Fred Kudym know at 671-7524. It would be appreciated. Please Note: A new page has been added to the RockComp web site. It is special announcements. The page will contain all news or announcements that pertain to the clubs daily activity. Check it often. This is the way you will be informed of class changes.The clubs bylaws have been added to the Mission page. We are in the process of updating/correcting the bylaws so read them over and send me any changes/corrections that you would like to suggest.Frequently check the Activities button for updated class information. Check the News button at the top of the page for information on club activities and general meeting speakers. Both of these pages are updated as new information is received. |

Business meeting minutes of the RockComp computer club for Wednesday, February 03, 2010 |
President Dale Clark called the monthly RockComp business meeting to order at 9:35 AM followed by all members standing and pledging allegiance to the American flag.Then, Dale C introduced the members of the executive board … Vice President, Winston Heogh; Secretary, Carol Hayden; Treasurer, Dale Fosjord; trustees, Chuck Rickard, Irv Swanson and Jim Lettenmaier.Next, Dale asked for new members and people attending the meeting for the first time to stand and be recognized.READING OF THE MINUTES: Secretary, Carol Hayden read the minutes of the previous business meeting held on December 2, 2009. The following corrections were stated: that Eldon, as well as Darlene Johnson, is on the nominating committee; AZaac meets quarterly, not monthly; and Don Hamilton also monitors the computer lab on Thursdays with Chuck Rickard.Don Hamilton made a motion to accept the minutes as corrected, Jim Lettenmaier seconded the motion, motion carried.READING OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT: Dale C gave the treasurer report for treasurer, Dale Fosjord. The balance as of 1/29/2010 is $1296.28 which includes all deposits and disbursements. Darlene Johnson made a motion to accept the treasurer report; the motion was seconded by Don Hamilton and passed.COMMITTEE REPORTS:AZACC … Neither Dale C or Jim Lettenmaier attended the January quarterly meeting. Jim reminded us that the APCUG Regional Conference on the 21 and 22nd is open to anyone. The registration fee is $55.EVAAC … No one from the club attended the January meeting. The next meeting will be February 8th at Val Vista Village.Instructor and Classes … Winston has posted a listing of instructors and their classes and schedules on the patio bulletin board.It was brought to our attention that non-members have been attending computer club classes. Winston said that the posting on the bulletin board will specify that classes are for computer club members only.Membership … Don Hamilton reported that we have 106 paid members.Special Events … Dale Clark spoke for Fred Kudym, who was absent, reminding us of the annual RockComp potluck on Thursday, February 25th starting at 4PM. The club’s next Monday coffee hour 50/50 raffle is scheduled for March 8th.New Members … Grace Lunt nothing to report on new member books.Webmaster … Chuck Rickard said that if anyone has a monitor he can set up a third INTERNET ONLY computer in the foyer of the computer complex. Chuck also mentioned that he has asked housekeeping to clean the floor in the Rickard lab.Don Cook, our guest speaker at next week’s meeting, will be talking about GPS systems.OLD BUSINESS: There was no old business to discuss.NEW BUSINESS:The following people were elected to office for the 2010/2011 season:President: Dale Clark Vice President: Winston Heogh Secretary: Carol Hayden Treasurer: Dale FosjordTrustee: Chuck Rickard for two years beginning March 2010 and ending March 2012Carol Steeples made a motion to accept the candidates, Michelle Kegel seconded the motion, motion carried.Next, the earlier mentioned problem of non-members attending classes was again discussed. It was stated that the phrase: ‘Must be a member of the RockComp Computer Club’ should appear on all class related information/sign-up sheets. It was suggested that an attendance sheet could be passed at all classes the names could then be checked against the member roster which Don Hamilton has. Also it was suggested by Chuck Rickard that it would be a nice courtesy if new members would show their membership cards when attending meetings.RockComp Bylaws …Irv Swanson and Chuck Rickard will correct terminology and typo errors ONLY (no re-wording) on the latest copy of RockComp’s bylaws dated 3/14/07. Michelle Kegel made a motion to allow Chuck to make the corrections of the terminology and typo errors ONLY. The motion was seconded by Don Hamilton, and passed.Jim Lettenmaier mentioned that he thinks there is a discrepancy in the length of the term of office for the trustees and a discussion followed.Dale C appointed Don Hamilton to be chairperson of the bylaws committee consisting of Winston Heogh and Michelle Kegel. Any proposed changes to the bylaws should be made to the committee.A motion to adjourn was made by Ralph Hattery, seconded by Penny Swanson and passed.
